The G.O. P. on the Wrong side of history, again!

I wish I could understand the Republican Party some day, but the more I try, the more I fail. For instance, they all condemned the health care bill for being "socialized medicine," and yet they ALL enjoy health insurance paid for by the American people.

I waited patiently for at least one of those devoted patriots, defenders of the "will of the people" to step up to the "cause," and give up his or her health insurance, and then go and join the uninsured Americansm but they did not. If they would have done it, then I would accept that they truly do not believe in "socialized health care." But they all failed me. Why? Because they are a bunch of demagogues with a double standard!

Today Senator Boehner, put out a statement saying that "This is a somber day for the American people...," and I can't disagree more. It is obvious that the senator and his political buddies have never interacted with the most vulnerable people of our society. For "those people," and for the rest of us who believe in social justice and equality, today is joyous day.

Mr. Boehner went on to criticize the Health Care Reform bill on the account that "Never before has such a monumental change to our government been carried out without the support of both parties." Is he expecting people to take him seriously? Has he forgotten, already, that the American people were watching the debates, and that they saw President Obama made many desperate attempts to have a bipartisan bill?

The Republican Party chose to seize every opportunity to seek political gains, instead of genuinely trying to compromise on the bill; and, therefore, they have nobody to blame, but themselves for being, as always, on the wrong side of history!
